“Patriotism is easy to understand in America. It means looking out for yourself by looking out for your country.” — Calvin Coolidge.

Later this month, I’ll be at a commissioner meeting for Wyoming State Parks. Also, this month, there is a Kids Outdoor Day Aug. 29 in Hot Springs State Park. It will feature more than 20 different educational/recreational activities including archery, air rifle shooting, birding, bear safety, kayaking, rock climbing, biking and mountain biking. It runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No pre-registration is required for this free event.

Welcome aboard new member Emmy’s Vintage Thrift Haven in Basin. They are located across from the courthouse in Basin on West C Street. Fun store with thrift, discount, retail and home decor. Not only did they join the chamber, but they also gave a generous donation to the Christmas light fund. Can’t wait to see how the store looks come holiday time. Stop in and welcome Emmy, Jessica and Kenny.

Thank you for your chamber membership renewals: The Shire and Fin Wyoming.
