Burlington started the volleyball season by competing in Cowley over the weekend in the Rocky Mountain Invite and saw early success.”We went 3-1, only losing to Greybull in two nail biting sets,” said Coach Natoshia Heaton.

The Lady Huskies faced Greybull first on Friday in that close game but lost with final scores of 18-25 and 14-25. They beat Wyoming Indian in three sets to close out the first day of the tournament with final scores of 20-25, 25-19 and 21-20.

“We ended the tournament with a tough match against Rocky in which we came out the victors of the thrilling 3 set match. All the girls pulled together and played so hard! They showed a lot of grit and determination. Never giving up and fighting to the very finish. I was so proud of the resilience they displayed. It is a very talented group of girls we have this season and with their dedication and drive I know this team is going places. I can’t wait to see how they rise to the next battle! Let’s go Lady Huskies!” said Heaton.

Burlington’s next games will be at home on Friday, the 11th against Riverside. JV will play at 5 and Varsity at 6 p.m. and Meeteetse on Saturday, with JV at 4 and Varsity at 5 p.m.
