The Riverside Rebels showed their potential at a tournament last weekend in Cokeville, improving every time they stepped onto the court and walking away with the Silver bracket championship.
Coach Cindi Smith said her team “came into the season with a lot of fire, drive and focus.”
As returning all-staters, Vinaya VanderPloeg and Brooklyn Paxton are the team leaders. “They stepped onto the court ready to be a force this year,” said Smith.

In a field of 30 schools and 124 runners, the Burlington Huskies performed well at the Billings Invitational on Friday.
“I feel like our hard work during the summer months really paid off in our first meets of the season,” said Coach Ryan Olson. “It’s always exciting to see what kind of results we can get after so many months without competition from other schools. We were really pleased with how things turned out.

The Huskies spent Friday at the Jamboree in Farson.
“Overall, the Jamboree was a good experience for us,” said Coach Trent Aagard. “We got to look at a lot of kids in different situations. Farson, Dubios, Encampment and Riverside were there and we got to play each of them in some capacity.
“It seemed like everyone was playing things close to the vest, but it was still a good time for us to scrimmage against someone else.”
While no scores or stats were kept, the Huskies had some big takeaways.
